Program Outline

Welcome & Garden Walk (15 mins)

  • Meet Shan and enjoy a calming stroll through the garden
  • Gather inspiration from nature, observe and collect seasonal plant materials

Introduction to Ikebana (20 mins)

  • Brief history and philosophy of Sogetsu Ikebana
  • Explore the Japanese aesthetic: space, balance and asymmetry
  • View examples of Shan’s work and learn basic principlesHands-on Flower Arranging (60 mins)
  • Guided creation of your own “Moribana” and freestyle arrangement
  • Work with seasonal branches, leaves, and flowers in a peaceful setting
  • Learn how to highlight the natural beauty of each element

Reflection, Tea & Chat (25 mins)

  • Enjoy tea and light refreshments
  • Share thoughts and ask questions
  • Take photos of your creation
